Centinela is a Costa Rica–based cybersecurity company dedicated to protecting organizations in an increasingly complex and hostile digital environment. We deliver practical, intelligence-driven security solutions designed for real-world operations—clear, effective, and built to scale.

Our mission is to serve as a true cyber sentry (“centinela”) for our clients: detecting threats early, responding decisively, and strengthening long-term cyber resilience.

Our Founder

Centinela was founded by Christopher Davis, a cybersecurity entrepreneur, technologist, and executive with deep experience building, scaling, and funding security technology companies.

Christopher is the founder and former CEO/CTO of HYAS, a multi-award-winning, venture-backed cybersecurity company specializing in adversary infrastructure intelligence. During his tenure, he was instrumental in closing over $24 million in pre-seed through Series B funding, with Microsoft Ventures (M12), S3 Ventures, Wesley Clover, and other institutional investors leading and participating in the rounds.

Prior to HYAS, Christopher founded Oriza Technologies, which was quickly acquired by CrowdStrike. Earlier still, his first startup was acquired by Endgame, an Atlanta-based cybersecurity company developing advanced tooling for the Five Eyes intelligence community.

Earlier in his career, Christopher received the FBI Director’s Award of Excellence from FBI Director James Comey for his role in the discovery, takedown, and criminal investigation of the Mariposa Botnet, which at the time was the largest botnet in history.

Christopher has spoken at leading industry and technical conferences, including Black Hat, ISOI, APWG, and ICANN, and is frequently interviewed on cybersecurity and digital threats. His media appearances include PBS Frontline, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBC, BBC, and others.

In addition to his executive work, Christopher maintains a strong research focus and has collaborated with researchers at Georgia Tech, Stanford, MIT, Oxford, and the Citizen Lab at the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto, where he was involved for several years.
